Tan deer with a large white tail. Small female, likely 2-3 years old. We went to my nieces birthday party and when returning, near the turnoff for my folks’ place, the deer, already dead, laid in the road. We knew it was within a decent amount of time so by the time we got to the house we decided to try out the roadkill law. We got the pickup and returned to the animal. The whole animal was taken at this point, while we pulled the shoulders and backstraps. Didn’t notice anything funny about the animal and the meat seemed to be just fine. It appeared the animal had been hit fairly centered because there were broken ribs that came up and punctured into the backstraps. After pulling the meat off we drove out and disposed of the carcass on Cedar Creek Rd.
