Species Account:
The deer was light brown with black highlights, and a white tail. It was about 90 pounds. The deer was standing still in the road.
Wednesday, December 18th, I was helping a friend Calvin and Gale move from Athol Idaho to Trout Creek Montana. On the way home to Spirit Lake where I reside, just after passing through the town of Clark Fork, Idaho, Bonner County, about mile marker 53 on highway 200 I hit a white tailed doe deer, killing it. Very little damage was done to my 2500 Chevy Truck. Rounding a curve she was standing in the road, I tried to stop, but not enough time to do so. We picked up the deer and put it in the back of my pick up and brought it to our home where we dressed it out.
This is the first animal of this size I have killed with my vehicle. It is a new experience for me.
