Species Account:
Typical mule deer markings. This buck was laying on the side of the road, Harris Creek Road at approximately the six mile mark. Upon checking it there was strong evidence that it had been hit by a vehicle. My wife and I found in on Monday morning at approximately 8:30am as we were driving back from our property in Placerville, ID. Due to the fact that we were not in my truck I had drive home and get my truck and go back up. Once I arrived back on scene I transported the buck to our property to attempt to salvage the meat and head. Upon arrival our power was out to our property so I had no lights or running water as we are on a well. As I unsure of how long the buck had been dead, and I had no water to field dress the body, I took the head, and disposed of the carcass in the woods.
