Species Account:
Appeared to be a young male moose with nubs just starting. We were heading up to Henry's Lake Wednesday 11/6/19 at about 6:30 am. coming from
the Idaho falls/Iona area and a few miles outside of Ashton, we say a car that was partially on the road and partially off to the side that looked like it had been in an accident. We stopped to see if we could assist and the Driver (a woman) was outside of the car and appeared unhurt. The front of her car appeared fairly damaged, the hood was up and the drivers door appeared jammed. After a few minutes, it appeared that the woman was going to be OK and I asked the woman if she was interested in keeping the moose and she indicated she was not and seemed fine with us salvaging it. I was with a friend and it was only us two. we left thinking we may come back for the moose later. A while later, I thought to call my father who was coming up fishing as well (about 30 min behind us). He had 3 other persons in the truck with him and could better lift the animal. I asked if they could pick up the moose at the site of the accident and they did. We later split up some of the meat several ways.
