Species Account:
On 10-28-2019 at about 0930 Hrs i found a deceased possible mule deer on Hwy 26 direction Swan Valley just outside of Ririe near MM 348. The head was completely destroyed and one of the legs was ripped off and the poor thing has been hit by unknown vehicle broadside. It had massive trauma i=and succumbed its injuries. I salvaged the whole animal, but was not sure if it was a mule or a white tail. I immediately notified Shane Liss our Fish and Game officer from SV and left him a message. Due to the icy road conditions- I wanted to confirm if it in fact was a mule or a white tail - i did not drive anywhere for the last 2 days. Today as the roads were less icier a friend of mine confirmed that in fact it is a mule deer. It was small, possibly a year or less old. I cannot say what sex it was since the organs had been so traumatically injured that I could not tell f buck or doe.
