Species Account:
While driving the forest service road I a doe mule deer jumped off the side of the road and struck the front right left side of my vehicle. Inspection found the deer's tail stuck to my bumper. The deer was found in the barrow pit with a broken pelvis and gapping gash with entrails where her tail and rectum had been. The deer was not dead but it was clear she would not survive. She was dispatched humanely and the meat was salvaged.
She was a medium sized mule deer doe, gray in color.
