Species Account:
Black phase, adult, male black bear was already dead when we saw it lying just over the white line on east bound route 2 in Laclede. It was approx 10:00 pm and carcass was still warm and eyes reflective.. It was approximately 300 lbs. Teeth were not in great shape with some broken and worn from use. Appeared well fed and healthy otherwise. One Back leg was broken and hernia like bulge in abdominal area,, one eye out on opposing side from the broken leg so must have taken a tumble.
