Species Account:
H Turner found a bloodspot on US-20 during a roadside carcass survey. Upon searching the borrow pits, I found a big pile of hair, lots of raven poop, and scavenger trails. I followed the trails until I came upon a rib cage. The animal had been thoroughly scavenged and the rib cage had been moved quite a way from the original resting place of the animal. The fur was gray in color, similar to other mule deer I have seen, but I left the species confidence at 80% because I am not 100% sure. This was 100% a roadkill, but the scavengers got to it before me!
