I arrived at the scene of a deer—vehicle collision. I was traveling eastbound on hwy 20 (near school house road) and noticed another vehicle pulled over on the side of the westbound lane with flashers on, moments later I noticed a mule deer buck lying in the middle of the road. I made a u-turn and pulled up behind the vehicle that collided with the deer with my flashers on. I checked to make sure the driver of vehicle was alright and then drug the deer out of the middle of the hwy to prevent any more accidents. I asked the driver if he would like to salvage any of the roadkill deer and if not would he be okay with me salvaging some of the deer. He said he didn’t want any and was alright with me salvaging the deer. I began to salvage the buck’s head and backstraps when officer Kevin Brizzi from the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene. He asked me a few questions and took some pictures. I finished salvaging the the backstraps and head, and then checked with Deputy Brizzi to see if it was alright for me to leave.
