I would like to salvage this animal and agree to the terms of salvage:
Shoulders, most of the backstraps and one hind quarter. It must have been hit in the other hind quarter.
I'm absolutely certain
This is the second buck I found in one day a mile apart within 30 minutes or so. I was headed home from dropping my kids at school and found a buck before this one and salvaged the meat from that one. After driving off northbound on US 95 to go home, I saw this one and stopped. It was also fresh. I salvaged what I could and headed home. This one looked a little healthier than the first because it didn't appear to have as bad of a tick infestation. This one was not very large either though. The meat looks great. Short fuzzy antlers. Very thankful to have found them both.
