Species Account:
I heard a vehicle strike an animal on the highway out in front of my residence. The vehicle drove off after the strike so I went out to see if I could find what was hit. Upon arriving in the area where the heard strike occurred, I found a whitetail doe on the highway embankment already deceased. Her front quarters were in bad condition but upon feeling the skin, her hind quarters seemed in good shape. I put the deceased doe in the back of my vehicle and drove a short ways of the side of the road and proceeded to harvest what I could based off of what was in good shape after the vehicle strike. This was a light brown, smaller in size but fully mature whitetail doe.
