Species Account:
It is clearly an adult make mule deer that was struck by a car as witnessed by my husband last night. We returned to make the animal was not wounded and in the field. We discovered the animal dead, upon which I called fish and game requesting permission to salvage parts of animal.
A police report was filed in Blaine county on 11/16/17 concerning the accident. Accident occurred between mile makers 98-99 on hwy 75, south side of Timmerman Hill, carcass remains are on the west side of the highway directly in front of power pole marked 514.
I was more upset the meat was not salvageable, such a waste. However because the animal clearly suffered severe internal damage and was not bled properly near or upon death, we had to leave it. My husband attempted to find the animal upon the time and afterward in order to salvage the meat, to no avail. However we would like to keep the antlers please.
