Species Account:
I was riding my bike on Ten Mile Creek tonight and spotted this Owl on the north side of the road. It struck me as odd, as there isn't a huge amount of traffic on that road. I'm pretty sure it just got hit by a car, but I figured I would let you guys know since it's an owl. It was located at gps location: 43.505398, -116.303154 It didn't appear to be infested with insects yet. I tossed it off the side of the road up to the fence line. I stacked up a few rocks right there so you guys would know where to find it if you wanted to take a look at it. I believe it was the long-eared owl as it had a lot of white in it's breast and neck, and had long dark ears. It appears that the great horned owl is mostly earth toned colors. I have photos on my phone if you would like those I'm happy to provide them, but it's a bit of a hassle to put them on the computer if you don't really need to see them.
