Species Account:
Whitetail buck, Reddish brown, (typical summer color), approx 2yo, running across 4 lanes of highway. 2 points on both sides in velvet. Hit the driver's side of my vehicle while I was going 60-63mph. The buck hit my front bumper, driver's side front and rear doors, then left rear quarter panel and rear bumper. The animal was killed instantly and I pulled if out of the lanes of traffic. I then salvaged the backstraps off of it. The rest of the meat was unsalvageable. I drug the carcass far off the road so scavenging animals and birds were out of the way of traffic. There was a young Bald Eagle landing on the carcass as I was pulling back up to it.
