Species Account:
I was at the post office in Post Falls around 12:15 pm on April 19, 2017 and heard what appeared to be a vehicle accident. I left post office to find the deer in the middle of Greens ferry Rd next to the train tracks. I pulled over and was able to keep her calm and not dart back into traffic. A few Post Falls P.D, Sheriff and Animal Control showed up. She got scared and started to make her way into the field. It was obvious she had at least 1 broken hind leg. The Sheriff and Animal Control informed me I was able to salvage the animal after they put it down and to fill out the forms / tags.
She was a smaller doe, light brownish / grey in color. Sex determined it was not a buck.
