Species Account:
Animal was brown on the majority of the body. White rump and white belly. Clearly a white tail deer because there was no black tip on its tail. Deer sex was male. Antlers present, deer had 2 full size eye guards and 4 symmetrical even points on both antlers. Full grown whitetail buck. My Mother was driving south on hwy 52 towards Emmett/ New Plymouth area when a truck traveling north flashed his brights at her. She looked in the trucks direction wondering what he was trying to signal her about and out of the corner of her eye on the west side of the road came this big buck right into her path and she struck the deer with the front right side of her chevy suburban. The deer was thrown to the side of the road. My mother tried to stop but since she was traveling at 55 mph (the posted speed limit) but was unable to stop in time or swerve to avoid it due to the traffic going in the opposite direction. My mother called 911 and reported it. Payette County Sheriff showed up on seen and did a full report. The sheriff aloud my mother to harvest the deer.
