Species Account:
The buck had normal species color was a button buck antlers less than 2" antlers. I drove across bridge north bound 55 at the northern city boundary of Cascade ID. One doe jumped in front of my vehicle we slowed down to miss her I thought the road way was clear and proceeded along my route and the buck jumped in front of me upon impact his front right leg was snapped he was not getting up nor kicking but still breathing while he was slightly unconscious I felt for broken bones and also seemed that his stomach area had herniated (upon field dressing I found that his liver was lacerated as well. We waited for 15 minutes after which I decided to dispatch the buck to relieve its suffering . At this time Cascade PD arrived on scene to evaluate I told the officer there was minimal damage to my vehicle the decision I made to dispatch the animal, I showed the officer the animal and my vehicle and informed him that I will utilize the salvage law.
