Species Account:
The elk was a bull in the velvet with 3to 4 pts per side . One side got partially broken off in the collision, the elk was already dead when I arrived on the scene. the vehicle was gone. The elk was dead laying pointed east on the west shoulder of highway 95 about 1/4 mile north of mile post #8 north of the Oregon border south of Marsing. The impact took place in the north bound lane and the elk landed on the opposite side of the highway on the shoulder of the highway. We first saw the dead elk at 12.30 am Sunday morning, I proceeded home checked the regs and then went back retrieved the elk at 1:am Sunday morning took him to my residence, 742 Succor creek road Jordan Valley Oregon 97910. I then skinned and hung the elk, I will cook a piece tonight and taste. If good I will salvage all edible parts. If he is not, I will dispose of it in my ranch waste site
