I woke up this morning to see a down whitetail in my yard in a great deal of distress. She was unable to get up and the only indication she was still alive was her tail movements as well as her breathing. She was bleeding profusely from her moth and had a patch of fur missing on her left side in the middle of her body. I dispatched the animal with a .357 to end her suffering. However before I put her out of her misery I called both the latah county sheriffs department as well as the Lewiston Idaho fish and game office where I received permission to dispatch the animal.
