Species Account:
I was called by Bear Lake County S.O. between 3 and 4 A.M. that an elk had been hit on highway 30 north of Georgetown, ID. I was asked if I would like to salvage it. It was a calve and was 7.1 miles from Stringtown and highway 30 in Georgetown. I don't know what it's actual size was; I do know that the driver of the vehicle that hit the Elk calve said that he swerved to miss an Elk and hit this one. It's very possible that the first elk was a cow, and the calve was following it.
