I would like to salvage this animal and agree to the terms of salvage:
Probably. I'm a bit uncertain.
I was driving home from Saturday evening church services at approximately 6:45PM on October 3, 2015, eastbound on W. Hanley Ave. in Coeur d' Alene, ID. Because W. Hanley Ave. can be poorly lit in this area I had my fog lights on which give me a wider range of view. Out of nowhere an entire family of deer ran in front of me. I was able to slightly swerve to avoid the biggest of the group but then heard and felt something hit my right front quarter panel. I may have instantly seen out of my peripheral vision what appeared to be a smaller deer than the one I missed. I slowed to a stop and made a u-turn to return and look for the animal. I did not find it. Upon returning home I was very shaken up and went directly to bed without dinner. Upon rising this morning I noticed the damage to the right front quarter panel of my car and found deer hair trapped under the side light panel confirming I had been hit by the deer.. Given the damage to my car, which is otherwise built like a tank, I cannot imagine this deer survived. I am far too traumatized by the likelihood of my having killed this innocent animal to go back to the scene, but I am certain there must be a dead deer somewhere on or about W. Hanley Ave in between I-95 and Ramsay Road.
