Solitary Sandpiper:----Notes taken during observation: Head brown, distinct white eye ring extending to front of face, giving a spectacled appearance. Bill somewhat long and straight, color not noted. Upper parts light brown, some speckling. Spotted brown upper breast with some speckling on sides. Undersides otherwise white. Yellow legs.--**--Solitary, so no size comparison. However, it was clearly too small for either yellowlegs. Much larger than peeps.--**--Seen at about 50-75 feet with 15x45 spotting scope. Clear day; excellent lighting. Was feeding along water's edge. No obstructions.--**--I am familiar with this species.
