Observed Individual(s) in Hand or Close Range
On September 20th 2013 I was driving out in the dark along the Bear Creek Road along Palisades Reservoir. Just past the summer home area a very large weasel-like animal ran onto the road and stopped about 15 feet in front of the truck and paused for just a second while I looked at it. It was quite large easily over 3 feet long with a darker reddish brown back and a lighter chest/underside. I hadn't ever seen one of these particular animals in person before so I got home and looked it up online and found that it had to be a Fisher. The size and description fit, and the photos match exactly. It ran uphill after pausing in the road briefly and went into the trees.

I had a great look at it from 15 feet. After seeing it I looked up the physical description of the animal which I had seen and then saw information and photos of Fishers that are a match. No question.
