Habitat Description:
Sagebrush flats. Vegetation consists almost exclusively of Artemisia; the only other plants noted were ricegrass (Oryzopsis; occasional), saltbush (Atriplex; uncommon), and spiny hopsage (Grayia; uncommon). Largely natural and unburned. Invasive cheat grass (Bromus) was not observed at any of the known Microdipodops localities. Habitat appears fragile. Biggest threat is the danger of wildfires and subsequent invasion of invasive plants such as Bromus.
