The observer was hunting bighorn sheep in the vicinity. From a distance of 250 feet uphill from FS Road 356, he observed a wolverine traversing an open talus slope on the SE face of Mount Jordan (moving SW to NE).

Alpine/subalpine habitat at 9600 feet; steep, talus, southeast exposure slope with sparse mountain mahogany and conifer cover; surrounding subalpine forest primarily lodgepole pine; area with very low road density adjacent to Frank Church Wilderness.
