Habitat Description:
Was staying at Beaver Creek Cabin in Idaho City Ranger District, walked from the cabin down Beaver Creek Trail, observed a light brown-colored bear crossing the river on a log, headed towards the trail, maybe 300 feet shy of the first wood bridge. I was maybe 100 feet from the bear, observing from the trail above the river. Bear did not see me or my dog, I hooked up the dog and turned and RAN back to the trailhead.
