Crotalus oreganus lutosus under Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, green rabbitbrush, during 2011 in sagebrush steppe that burned during 1993. Great Basin rattlesnakes apparently prosper in post-fire sagebrush steppe where Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus predominates. This site lies north of highway 20 off Taylor Blvd in the Idaho National Laboratory, Bingham County, Idaho. This upland clay flat is relatively plant species poor compared to other post-fire sagebrush settings. [RD20 near MFC.] Data CC-BY-SA mattlavin on iNaturalist.
