Myrtle Point
Survey Intensity:
very thorough
Population
Population Area:
1.25 acre
More potential habitat to survey:
yes
Suggestions for other areas to survey:
Adjacent sagebrush community. Only the habitat in and immediately surrounding the recreation site was surveyed.
Monitoring or research needs for this population:
This is a heavily used recreation site with developments proposed. Although current recreation use does not appear to be significantly impacting the population, with use increasing the population should be monitored.
Management needs for this population:
Some of the area proposed to be developed for recreation (i.e., paths, parking, campsites) by BLM would occur over this population. Avoidance of the population area and adjacent potential habitat in the development of this recreation site has been recommended to BLM, although they may still be authorized nonetheless.
Additional population comments:
There were four clusters of plants observed here, but all considered to be in the same subpopulation.
