Species Account:
We observed what we believe to b a Wolverine for several minutes as it climbed along a basalt cliff rim, and then entered a den. The area is very rocky with a lot of high grass and fairly protected outside of Marsing. I realize this would be unusual and rare but based on my observation of the shape of the head, tail, and size of the body it was not a bobcat, coyote, mountain lion, or raccoon. It did not have canine face nor ear shape. It did not resemble a badger and was not a rock chuck nor marmot being much larger in the fox and coyote size range. The head was closer to a cat and the ears were rounded with a long fluffy tail. I am certain it was not a fox or coyote. I feel strongly this was a wolverine and this site could be a good location for potential future observation. I have poor quality video of the final moment of the sighting.
