Spotted at Eagle Island State Park, 50 yards away. It was in the marsh field near the horse trailhead parking. Observed and identified through binos. The Great Egret is one of my late grandfathers favorite birds and he educated me on its history and rarity so I easily recognized the bird. I returned a the next day and it was still at the park, in the southern fields, where it was making its calls. I’m an amateur birder, so the photos were taken from my phone.
