Reported as synonym "Caenis simulans McDunnough." This record is from Horning DS and Barr WF. 1970. Insects of Craters of the Moon National Monument, Idaho. Miscellaneous Series 8. University of Idaho, College of Agriculture. Moscow, Idaho. (The bulk of collecting for this report was done in 1965). Station 6; 14 August; at black light.

“[…] at an elevation of 6000 ft [...,] [t]his slope is covered with P. flexilis and has a small stand of Juniperus scopulorum. Many dead P. flexilis are near the upper limits of the station. The shrubs C. nauseosus, P. tridentata, and Ribes cereum are abundant. Among the principal herbs are Crepis accuminatum, C. terebinthinus, Gayophytum nuttalli, Lupinus caudatus and P. leucophylla. A few clumps of E. condensatus are present in the more open areas” (Horning and Barr 1970).
