Individual(s) Observed (seen)
I was walking on Lower Pack River Road outside Sandpoint. I saw the bear when I was returning to Idaho Club. It crossed about 150-200 yds in front of me on the road. It was going from a pond to the other side which was a mountain. If it stood up, my guess is that it would be 4.5 to 5 ft tall. It was definitely brown. A reddish brown color. I was nervous to walk by so I walked the other direction and flagged someone down to drive me to the back gate of Idaho Club.

Everyone I spoke to said the only brown bears in Idaho were Grizzly's. This was definitely not a black bear. I could not tell if the bear had the hump of a grizzly.
