Observed Individual(s) in Hand or Close Range
I am a biologist with the Forest Service in Mountain Home, Idaho. On March 28th of 2015 I observed an adult fisher at close range. I heard a squirrel in distress and as i approached the sound I saw the adult fisher wrapped around an adult grey squirrel. The fisher killed the squirrel and left it as I approached. The fisher then began circling me repeatedly. I observed it for approximately 15 mins. I have 3 separate videos of the fisher at close range. It was on the south fork Boise River in a cottonwood habitat type. The location was Forest Road 121R. The videos are too large to upload with this form so please contact me directly. I have high confidence in this sighting as I have a degree in wildlife biology and I was able to observe the fisher at close range, and review the videos with other biologists.
