Species Account:
I was snowshoeing in the Jedediah Smith Winderness in Eastern Idaho, near the WY border at Coyote Meadows and had just entered the forest boundary and saw him sort of slinking low to ground in snow and at that point didn't know what it was. I advanced and he was walking towards a tree line. I thought he went out of sight, but as I stood atop his tracks I saw out of corner of my eye that he had stopped on a downed tree by the border of the thicker trees and was watching me. As he walked away, I could see him much better, could see that it was a wolverine, and noticed the distinctive humping of his back as he walked. I was so excited to see him, but was unable to get off a picture shot. :-(
