Species Account:
The Am. Tree Sparrow was observed at close range with a spotting scope as it fed in a tall stand of weeds with much seed along the 2-track road (patrol road) east of the Schaffer's Access parking lot. It was part of a large flock of sparrows and finches feeding on the seeds. Bird was observed for about 2 minutes before it spooked with other sparrows/finches. I could not relocate it in a 15 minute search.
