Species Account:
Stopped to check the mud flats for shorebirds, but my efforts were thwarted by human disturbance. Two different groups of youngsters walked up to the area and into the area where birds were concentrated flushing all the birds. It was not deliberate, of course, but they were unaware of the presence of the birds and the need to let them feed in peace. Birding was done primarily with a scope since the birds were so far distant. Many birds were missed due to the distance and I am sure a number of species were missed such as Cinnamon Teal, Gadwall, and peeps. Weather was good with no appreciable wind, partly cloudy sky, temperature around 66 F.
