This flycatcher was foraging in the hedgerow on the north side of the patrol road and west of the Tio Lane access. The identification was made by observing the unique habit of this species of constantly lowering it's tail and slowly raising it back to a neutral position. According to Sibley's field guide, Gray is the only empidonax flycatcher to exhibit this type of tail behaviour.
