Species Account:
Spmlott blvd, was driving home when I saw other cars in front of me swerving all over the road. I saw a doe lying in the middle of the inside West bound lane. I pulled into the center median, due to right lane blockage. I turned on my hazards and stepped out to direct traffic. Two women were parked on the side road, informing me that they had called Canyon county sheriff ti help. When the traffic cleared, I accessed that the young doe was not going to kick me and was still stunned. So I grabbed her back legs, which where angled out behind her, rolled her on her back to prevent her from using her front hooves as leverage, and dragged her off to the side road to a farmers corn field. The CCS Officer then showed up. The officer agreed the doe was suffering and would not be getting up. The officer put her down then. I asked the officer if the game meat would be put to use, if not, may I take it to help feed families. The officer checked with dispatch and gave me the go ahead. We loaded the doe into the back of my Geo Metro and I have put the meat in my freezer. The druver who actually hit the mule deer didnt not stop. The doe was about two years old and was a wet doe. The two women said they had seen two other deer with this doe when she was hit. They were larger than her.
