Habitat Description:
On a flat clearing at elevation 6300 feet. [The soil is of granitic origin, with no evidence of lava activity.] "Many plant species are present, but only a few were checked regularly for insects. The principal trees are Alnus tenuifolia, Populus tremuloides, and P. trichocarpa, with a scattering of Salix spp. A few shrubs, such as A. tridentata and C. nauseosus[,] grow in the more open areas. There is a heavy stand of mixed vegetation along the creek, including Agastache urticifolia, H. lanatum, Prunus virginiana, Rubus parviflorus, S. serra, U. lyalli, and Xanthium strumarium. Adjacent to the station is a small beaver pond..." (Horning and Barr 1970).

When

Date Time:
August 5, 1965 (All day)
Date/Time Precision:

Date Notes:
Though U70HOR01IDUS provides the month and day for the sighting, the year was not indicated and could have been 1964, 1965, or 1967, but "most of the field collections and observations" were "made in 1965," so that year is used here.
