Species Account:
Injured doe mule deer noticed laying on side of road. I approached the animal and noticed it had been hit by a car and injured. I approached the animal, which was still alive. it stood up and slowly walked about 50 yards into some willows. As it moved, it was obvious that both hind legs had been broken and had compound fractures to both legs. I notified Blake Phillips in Boise with Fish and Game. I told him the situation and he put me in touch with local game officers which I was able to contact roughly 6 hours later. When I approached the animal after contacting Korey Owens the animal had died but was still warm. I took photos of animals before touching it or moving it. I intend to salvage the entire animal.
