Seen on 16 June around Red River WMA birding in the morning and walking bird survey in PM w/ Miles Benker and Mindy Wiebush. Also includes a 30 minute walk up FS 1806A Rd. just across from WMA HQ. Sandhill Cranes were a big surprise!
Presumed pair seen throughout the weekend in the Red River WMA meadow complex and adjining proporties. A very nice surprise. Have apparently been in the area > 1 month. Do not appear to be nesting but certainly is prime nesting habitat.
