Abstract:

During the 2013 field season vascular plant surveys were conducted in portions of the recently established Wilderness Areas (North Fork and Owyhee) in the vicinity of the Owyhee River corridor in Owyhee County, Idaho as well as other areas in the Boise District BLM lands. Surveys were conducted in early, middle, and late season. A total of over 3000 acres were surveyed including over 500 acres of habitat in the Wild and Scenic River corridor. Populations of rare plants were monitored when they were encountered, and, accordingly, 11 Idaho Natural Heritage forms are appended (Appendix II) for Beth Corbin, Owyhee Field Office BLM Botanist, for delivery to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. Six hundred and sixty eight collections of vascular plants were made (a list is included as Appendix I). Duplicates of many of those collections along with many from 2012 have been mounted and submitted to the Owyhee Field Office. An updated Vouchered Checklist of Vascular Flora of the Owyhee River drainage in Idaho, Nevada, and Oregon is included as Appendix III to this report.
