Abstract:

In summer 1995, the U. S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service, Craters of the Moon National Monument contracted with the Environmental Science and Research Foundation to perform a mineral and biological survey of Crystal Pit and Snow Cone, two caves associated with spatter cones on the Monument. To avoid unnecessary damage to the sensitive cave resources, the Foundation agreed to a limit of two visits to each cave. The surveys were performed on 30 September and 7 October 1995. This document is the final report of the findings of those surveys.
