Now that the comment period is over for proposed new landowner rules, where do I find out if they passed and when they take effect?

The Department will review the comments received via the website and those collected at public meetings to develop a recommended course of action. The Commission will be briefed on the results of the public comment and asked for further direction, including consideration of the Department's recommended course of action. Should the Commission want to proceed with adopting rules, the Department would prepare detailed rule language which will be made available for public review prior to the Commission meeting. Additionally, the Commission will solicit public testimony on any proposed rules prior to considering them for adoption. Updates to the process will be announced via newspaper and our website.
