Southwest Region Rainbow Trout Stocking Schedule for the Month of November
Personnel from Fish and Game's Nampa Hatchery will be releasing more than 14,400 catchable-sized rainbow trout at the following locations during November. Local ponds are the primary focus of this stocking effort due to milder weather and correspondingly cooler water temperatures.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game will stock over 1,200 rainbow trout in the 10-12 inch range the first week of November in Hayden, Hyde and Kid's Creek ponds in the Salmon Region.

With final agreements now signed, hunters, anglers, trappers and other recreationists have access to 336,630 more acres of private timberland through an agreement between the landowners and Fish and Game.

A young black bear cub, taken from the wild by a well-meaning citizen, was deemed a good candidate for rehabilitation and now resides with a licensed rehabilitator in central Idaho.

Fish and Game asks pheasant hunters to report banded birds at Sterling WMA
This fall, sportsmen and sportswomen hunting Sterling WMA may find that their harvested rooster pheasants have metal leg bands. Hunters may keep the leg bands, but Idaho Fish and Game is asking hunters to please report the bands by calling 208-236-1254 and providing the information requested.

Agencies join forces to protect city watershed and sensitive wetlands
Land and wildlife managers hope initial efforts to construct a fence in the upper Jesse Creek area will protect a sensitive wetland in a watershed that serves as one of the main water sources for the City of Salmon.

Only antlers and ivories taken from bull elk shot and wasted near McKown Road north of Potlatch
The elk had been shot one time with only the antlers and ivories removed from the animal. All of the meat was left to waste from the elk. It is believed the elk was killed sometime between Sunday October 13, 2019 and Wednesday October 16, 2019.

Mule deer doe & fawn wasted near North Tom Beall Road near Lapwai
Investigation by Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers showed both deer had been shot and no meat taken from either animal. It is believed that both deer were killed at a different location and dumped where they were discovered.

The landowner is very appreciative of all of the interest, support and tips that led to the solve on this case. Tips from the public are the key to making a majority of unlawful big game cases. Idaho’s wildlife is a precious resource that belongs to all of us, and with the publics continued assistance we will help protect it for future generations to enjoy.

Two mule deer bucks left to waste south of Idaho Falls
Fish and Game is investigating two mule deer bucks that were wasted and dumped south of Idaho Falls. They were discovered on Thursday Oct. 17 south of the Sand Creek Golf Course on Henry Creek Road.

Oct. 21 Upper Salmon River Steelhead fishing report
Steelhead fishing improved over the past week on the upper Salmon River. Despite poor weather on Saturday, angler effort during the weekend increased, and anglers reported catching steelhead in all river location codes downstream of Salmon.

Spike bull elk found shot and wasted off of Fern Hill Road south of Deary on Oct 18
The elk had been shot with a rifle, gutted, and partially skinned before it was illegally dumped along the road. No meat had been removed wasting the entire animal.

Idaho Department of Fish and Game is seeking information regarding two separate incidents of waste of big game in Caribou County. In the first few days of regular deer season, two mule deer bucks were shot with rifles and left to waste in different units.
