Hunters should check for wildfires in their hunting areas before their trips
Large fires in Idaho are common during summer and can affect hunting seasons, even after the fires are extinguished. Hunters should check to see if their hunting areas are affected, especially during early seasons. Fish and Game will consider requests for rain checks for controlled hunts if access to a hunting unit is completely blocked by fire.

A bunch of hunting opportunities kick off Aug. 30 and Sep. 1

Fish salvage issued on Big Lost River from Beck Diversion downstream to Moore Diversion
Effective Aug. 16 until Sept. 15, 2022 fish from the Big Lost River downstream of the Beck Diversion to the Moore Diversion may be taken by any method except firearms, explosives, chemicals or electric current, all size and number limits are suspended.

Winners announced for second 2022 Super Hunt drawing
The second wave of Idaho Super Hunt drawing winners have been picked. Winners can participate in any open hunt in the state for the species that they drew, including general hunts and controlled hunts, in addition to any general season or controlled hunt tags they also hold.

Low-level helicopter flights to occur over the South Hills in August and September
Officials with the Sawtooth National Forest have notified Fish and Game, Magic Valley Region that a contractor will be conducting low-level helicopter flights, spraying a pre-emergent herbicide to approximately 3,000 acres on the Minidoka Ranger District, also known as the South Hills, south of Twin Falls.
