During the spring wildlife baby boom, young animals are better off left alone
Spring is here, and so is the peak of baby wildlife season. People are bound to see young wildlife when they venture outdoors during the spring and early summer, and there is a pretty good chance that they will see a baby animal that appears to be alone. Fish and Game officials have a simple suggestion to people who discover baby animals that appear to be abandoned: Just leave them be.

Youth-only controlled hunts provide excellent foundational opportunities for big game hunting
Budding hunters have until June 5 to apply for tags for elk, deer, pronghorn and black bear controlled hunts set aside exclusively for youth. The controlled hunt application period for deer, elk, pronghorn and fall black bear hunts runs from May 1 to June 5, and winners will be posted online by July 10.

Idaho Parks and Recreation, Fish and Game partner with local radio stations for a “free fishing fiesta” at Eagle Island State Park
Memorial Day weekend marks unofficial opener to fishing season in Idaho, and to kick off the season, Idaho Fish and Game and State Parks have partnered with local Spanish-language radio stations to create a community event to introduce English and Spanish-speaking residents of southwest Idaho to fishing and recreational opportunities at the area’s state parks. Join us on May 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dworshak Reservoir tops state record bass once again
Congratulations to Travis Wendt of Lewiston, Idaho on landing Idaho's latest state record fish. Travis hooked the massive 23.5-inch smallmouth bass while fishing Dworshak Reservoir on May 10th.
