Annual walleye netting on Lake Pend Oreille will begin on April 10

Spring 2023 will mark the sixth year of netting operations to help control the walleye population in Lake Pend Oreille.

Weather conditions along the upper Salmon River were cold and windy during the past week, especially over the weekend. However, catch rates downstream of North Fork improved as more steelhead arrived in the area, and it was within this area that we observed the highest amount of angler effort.
