Here is what waterfowl hunters need to know for the 2023-24 season

The Southwest Idaho waterfowl season opened Thursday, Oct. 19, excluding Valley County, where the season has been open since Oct. 7. While some hunters may still be accustomed to the waterfowl season opener falling on a weekend, this is the third consecutive year in which the season has opened on Oct. 19.

F&G transfers warmwater fish to Treasure Valley Community Ponds

Anglers can expect a boost to warmwater fishing opportunities at six local community ponds in the Treasure Valley after receiving more than 10,000 fish from the Deer Flat Lowline Canal that were salvaged and transferred by Fish and Game staff.

Sportsmen’s access sites on upper Salmon River, North Fork boat ramp now open

Construction work to improve several Fish and Game Sportsmen’s Access sites along the upper Salmon River and improvements to the North Fork boat ramp has been completed. All temporary closures have been lifted.

Three elk shot out of season and left to waste near Kepps Crossing
