Tag Exchanges Available for Brownlee Zone Elk Hunters

idfg-nnokkentved
Elk hunters holding Brownlee Zone A-tags now have the option of exchanging them for other general elk tags. Brownlee Zone A-tags will be exchanged at any Fish and Game office through the close of business (5 p.m., local time) Monday, September 9. Wildfires burning across much of the Brownlee Elk Zone - which opened to elk hunting on August 30 - have resulted in public closures of large portions of the zone, forcing tag holders to watch and wait. "With only portions of the wildfire contained, there is no telling when the entry restrictions might be lifted," Fish and Game regional supervisor Scott Reinecker said. "Allowing Brownlee Zone tag holders to exchange their tags for an opportunity to elk hunt in another part of the state is a good option." For more information about other hunts potentially impacted by this season's wildfires, contact the Fish and Game Nampa office at 208-465-8465.
